What we watched this week:
"This week the four of us reviewed several different movies within various genres. As a group, we watched the movies 21, The Hunting Ground, Wonder Boys, and We Are Marshall. These included a crime documentary, sports drama, an additional drama, and one comedy. All of our picks relate to the theme of college education, and the conflicts or issues that one may encounter during their time on, or around a college campus. One thing that was repeated in all of our films we reviewed, was the interaction of individuals and relationships; whether they be peer to peer, peer to professor, or other individual interactions. Some films focus more on the friendship or romantic side, while another got very serious about dangerous physical encounters they had gotten into. When meeting with one another, we also noticed drastic differences in the apparent college issues that were brought up in our movies. One film deals with the loss of a close friends life and how to work through that, another covered the issues of depression, bullying, and drug addiction. One took a funny twist on ways to come up with tuition money and the last one went into details of a heavy topic that is often kept swept under the rug and out of peoples thoughts when they think of living at college. Visit our individual pages, under the menu tab, to get a sneak peek into each of the four films seen above. We may not be experts, but our thoughts and opinions are worth your time and energy to read (I promise). Take a few minutes to dig a little deeper into how entertainment views the college world and the issues seen on a day to day campus for a college student. Even leave a comment or response if you would like!"
